The 3 critical components needed to archive a survey for future reference and analysis are: - The Excel Report with labels downloaded from the Reports Manager page.
- The Quick Report to see the questions, response choices and r numbers
- The Print View to see the survey as a respondent and save to PDF for reference.
WSU is working on a feature that would enable you to download all three components in an archive with a single click. An announcement will be here when this feature is ready.
There is no bulk download for multiple surveys; this process must be done on a survey-by-survey basis.
General concepts survey account holders need to know before starting the download process: - Response data is tied to the survey questions by the use of response codes called “r” numbers
- Response data can be exported as Excel or CSV formats.
- R numbers are downloaded and in the excel report with labels, the excel report without labels and the CSV file.
- R numbers are displayed along with the question text and response choices on the Quick Report displayed in the browser.
- The Quick Report shows the questions, the response choices and the data in graphical form.
- Print view can be used to display survey questions without data, even if the survey has multiple pages.
- You must have a minimum of shared manage permission for the survey to access all components you need.
